Sick-sick of Chk-Chk

I know this is only my second post. And I don’t want this to become the type of blog where all I do is vent my spleen over the various things that are bugging me at the moment. But. I’m going to have a rant. And I’m going to start by asking these questions.

Why is Chk-Chk Boom Girl, Clare Werbeloff on our television screen and in our newspapers? Where is the news is this story and how long will we have to put up with her bogan idiocy?

In case you’re one of the few lucky individuals who are yet to discover the latest Youtube sensation that is Chk-Chk Boom girl, allow me to fill you in.

Clare Werbeloff was thrust into Youtube stardom a week and a half ago, after apparently witnessing a shooting in Kings Cross at around 3am on the 17th of May.

The shooting involved 27-year-old Justin Kallu, who was shot in the leg outside a strip club on Darlinghurst Road.

Werbeloff was interviewed by National Nine News about the incident and gave this response.

“There were these two wogs fighting and the fatter wog said to skinnier wog ‘Oi bro, you slept with my cousin.’ And the other one said ‘Nah man, I didn’t for shit eh?’ and the other one goes, ‘I will call on my fully sick boys eh?’ And then he pulled out a gun and went Chk-Chk BOOM!”

To the shock of many this response ended up being fake. Clare hadn’t witnessed any part of the incident and had made up the entire thing. She even boasted on her Facebook page saying, “You all got punk’d!”

Never mind wasting time of both Nine News and the police force. As well as completely disregarding the feelings of the victim’s grieving family. At least she got her moment in the spotlight and a witty new status update.

Hey, I’ll admit that a young girl lying to police with such a sensational story might make news for a day or two but why is the media still fishing for new angles a week and a half on.

Last night Werbeloff appeared on Channel Nine’s A Current Affair to attempt to clear her name and defend her use of the word “wog”, claiming the term is no longer derogatory and that she’s not a racist and “loves everyone”.  ACA agreed there was nothing wrong with using the term “wog”. So what was the point of this story?

Werbeloff spent the rest of the interview attempting to milk her 15-minutes of fame by shamelessly promoting herself and boasting about the range of Chk-Chk Boom merchandise that’s already emerged online.

The “many job offers” Clare has already received mostly include offers to pose for men’s magazines. A bright future for the Youtube starlet. One can only image her half naked and gun toting under headlines like Chk-Chk Babe!

I was commuting to the city this morning and spent 30 minutes of hell listening to ironically “a fat wog and a skinny wog”, laugh their heads off, watching every single variation of the dozens of Chk-Chk Boom girl videos from Youtube that one had conveniently uploaded to his phone. The amount of times they said Chk-Chk Boom made me contemplate Chk-Chk Booming the both of them!

In summing up, I will be pleased when Clare Werbeloff falls back into obscurity only to reappear in future episodes of 20 - 1 Biggest Fakes and Fraudsters.
